Exactly How Did Jersey Shore Become So Popular?

By Lauren Prahl

Jersey Shore has actually been a very popular tv show for lots of years, so if you don't understand much about it, continue reading to find out more

Generally, Jersey Shore was once a reality television series that was running for three years (from 2009 to 2012).

It watches the lives of eight young guidos and guidettes who will spend their summer season living in one fo the the most popular locations in the State of New Jersey - Seaside Heights. The individuals that were featured became bigger than life, mixing up into various scenarios in their work and personal lives - a few of which were rather surprising. That's exactly what made it so interesting to view.

To be truthful, I think that the tv show was rather addictive to see. The guidos are sometimes simply funny.

But, what is a guido anyhow? Well, this term literally is defined as "driver." It defines Italian-American guys and girls who prefer to dress up and act in a certain way. Guidos typically have muscle bodies and are young and tanned. Dare I state, the health club is a male guido's pal. Additionally, nothing is ever too revealing for the guidettes. Dressing suggestively seems to be a typical style with guidettes. In addition, wearing jewelry is almost always a requirement for both guys and girls.

As the tv show began, the reception in Seaside Heights was not very welcoming Residents already assumed the antics of the cast members would cast a bad spotlight on their quaint small town. I do not understand how this was dealt with, however the series began anyway.

As in the majority of reality shows, the place where the series was shot was stacked with cameras from one end to the other. The bathing space was the one and only location not covered by 24 hour cameras. A few of the cast members later stated that they would waist quite a lot of time under the shower simply to escape from all the cameras. In reality, Nicole Polizzi, one of the initial gals, revealed that most of the controversial things that were going on in the house were in reality their responses to those cameras. Those cameras had such a substantial influence on them.

Sadly for them, the television critics were not kind to Jersey Shore. In reality, quite a few people from the Italian community protested about the show, since they deem the term "Guido" be a derogatory ethnic slur.

This controversy pulled out a lot of the original sponsors such as Dell, American Family Insurance and Domino's which, as a result, was a last nail in the coffin.

To hypothesize, I would say that this program was not even supposed to be seen by grownups. Controversial behaviors that can solely be understood by that age group were typically aired throughout "family viewing times" - when supposedly parents and children are viewing. Finally, Jersey Shore could actually be surmised as a low-value program for anyone except the young teenagers it targeted.
