Arts Effect On Society And Economy

By Freda Watts

Art can be said to have affected the society at large I a very positive way. These effects can be seen in four ways which include materially, culturally, economically, and finally socially. Many nations have it practiced by all the people from the young to the old. However, arts effect on society can be felt more when the children begin practicing it since when they are young. This is because they get the chance to grow with it till they are old enough.

The expression tactics of an individual is one of the things that art has materially helped in. Those that are really good at reciting poems learn to express themselves in a very clearly and their self esteem is in turn positively affected. It is rather very clear that the most outgoing students in many institutions are those that are involved with drama and the conservative ones are the ones that are on their books all through their school lives. This for a fact is the reason why one can say that art decides at some point how one behave.

The communication skills of an individual is also boosted by art. It becomes very simple to pass a certain message, as harsh as it may be, but in a very soft way. The social network is thus created and interaction with very many people is made possible. This is clearly a plus for the arts men that the more reserved people would hardly get to have.

Culturally, art has had the effect of building a community's culture and in turn their pride is maintained. Many people tend to forget their culture and go fully westernized. The few that are left to stick to their culture find it difficult to maintain all the aspects, and this is where arts comes in. They could teach the aspects of their culture to the people then the singers for instance would sing and more people would learn the song.

Very few people in the current generation can tell what their culture entails. For example the art of singing helps the people of this generation to have a clue of what their great grandparents used to sing. Through drama, equally everyone have the chance to see what type of dressing existed in their society before westernization.

Economic growth has been another result of art as well. Traditional performances draw the attention of very many tourists. The country gains in the form of foreign exchange earned by the coming of the tourists. Clearly then roads to the interior parts of many countries are not good thus this money could be used in their repair to give the tourists a better chance to go and get more about the cultures of different people.

Cultural diversity is the social aspect that art offers. This is achieved by the multiple performances from variety of communities done by the artists. People get to find out different aspects that they did not at least know, about their neighbors.

People have had the chance to work with each other through art. This occurs when the artists are recruited from different parts of the country but work at one place. It helps them get to know each other and promote the growth of art through the sharing of ideas. It is therefore a fact that through arts effect on society, both an individual and their country have their own share of benefits.
