Why are Audiences Eager about Dum Maro Dum?

Indian filmgoers were watching it for the first time - the spellbinding music and the heartwarming tale of a brother and a sister filmed in the background of then originated Hippie culture. The pairing up of Asha Bhosle and RD Burman resulted in one among the most loved songs, Dum Maro Dum, the popularity of which couldn't be equaled by any other song . It was through Hare Rama Hare Krishna (in the credits of Navketan films), that Dev Anand brought forward the rebelling youth of that period on to the silver screen .

This classic movie of the '70s attracts a number of of fans of Hindi cinema even today. Undoubtedly, the spell cast by Zeenat Aman as Janice (Jasbir) retains its charm.

In hope to getting the same response, Rohan Sippy has directed a movie with the title of Dum Maro Dum, which feature the remixed track in the same name, done by music director Pritam. To provide entertainment to young filmgoers, Rohan links the new and old by casting Deepika Padukone in the new film, for the song. The new movie deals with the relevant topic of drug trading in Goa, which has many international connections, where as HRHK explored the Hippie culture developed in the US in the '60s. The new film stars Bipasha Basu, Monty Munford, Aditya Pancholi, Prateik Babbar and Abhishek Bachchan.

Dum Maro Dum shows different characters and shows how different people live their life. He casts Abhishek as a cop, Prateik as a student, Bipasha as an aspiring air hostess, Aditya as a drug trader and Rana as a DJ lives on drugs. One more character is present in the film, who has last word in drug trading and is the authority of the trading of drugs in Goa. Through her character Zoe, Bipasha lends the element of vagabond culture to the film.

Abhishek Bachchan in the role of ACP Vishnu Kamath, trying to run away from his own past, is given the job of destroying drug mafias operating from Goa. By putting himself in danger, Prateik's character Lorry tries to go to the US to be with his girlfriend. The character of Rana is Joki, who carelessly floats through his life when he loses all in a fight with mafia. Aditya Pancholi helps the powerful mystery man and involves in all the drug trades in Goa.

The director takes the viewer to various locales of Goa through the lives of inhabitants, where parties, beaches and discotheques are a few of the usual sights. Different characters have different background scores and the movie has its music as one of his plus points. People are waiting for this suspense film, showing various places in Goa. Only one aspect binds both the films - the song Dum Maro Dum.
