Performing Arts Summer Camps: Soaring Talents to High

Most of us love summer season and it is a great time for a respite out from school, home and office works. This is the time where children and young people look forward in vacationing with their families or friends to their dream summer destination. Also, this is an opportune time for youngsters to take part in summer camps where they can have great learning experiences.

Summer camp is a program that usually occurs during summer months. It is geared towards positive youth development where children and teenagers can learn life skills and other skills that they want to develop in a safe setting where they can interact with supervising adults. There are various kinds of summer camps that parents would want their children to get into. One of these is the performing arts summer camp.

Dance, music, theater, magic, circus and visual arts are programs being offered by most performing arts summer camps. It is an avenue for youth who enrolled in this program to present their talent and skills which can be developed further during the entire camp days. Beginners can also benefit as most summer camps program are customize for them.

There are various summer camps that offer this kind of program. The famous ones include French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts, Interlochen Arts Camp and Stagedoor Manor.

The Stageedor Manor is an esteemed summer camp as it provided training of highly profiled child actors. It was founded by Carl and Elsie Samuelson in 1975 and is located in upstate New York. Moreover, both Jacqueline Ferber and artistic director Jack Romano contributed to the establishment of the camp. Carl and Elsie Samuelson Theater and Jack Romano Playhouse are among the several theater spaces located in the camp.

The Alexandra Shiva's documentary in 2006 was staged in Stagedoor Manor. Natalie Portman, Mandy Moore and Robert Downey, Jr are few of the Hollywood celebrities who trained under the notable summer camp.

French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts is another pride of New York. It is renowned in training distinguished individuals in different fields of performing arts. Fashion designer Zac Posen, Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine and composer Jason Robert Brown are some famous celebrities who had undergone training in that particular school of performing arts.

Another notable performing arts summer camp is the Interlochen Center for the Arts. An institution based in Interlochen, Michigan, USA. The performing arts center is composed of Interlochen Arts Camp and Interlochen Arts Academy. Its famous alumni include Norah Jones, Josh Groban and Larry Page.

There are other notable performing arts summer camps found in different parts of the United States. Aside from sending children to performing arts school to develop and improve their skills in one form of performing arts, you can also opt to send them at some famous performing arts summer camps.
