Music Therapy - Relaxing Music to Yoga Music

Music has been known to speed up the healing process. The vibration of sound is crucial to the hearing impaired and it is a form of communication and an expression of the body's inner workings. Music is effortless. Listening takes no effort and it puts the body in a meditative state and it can emit emotions from sadness to happiness. Music heals the mind with its ability to change the inner thoughts and consciousness. Depression, anxiety and other mental and emotional disorders have been studied and have been decreased by the use of musical therapy.

Soft music, in general, is any song or sound that plays in soft melody and harmony. It may be a soft, slow song or an instrumental of a quiet piano solo. It may also come as a mix of nature sounds

This type of music consists of folk rock, acoustic guitars, pianos, synthesizers, saxophone and electric guitars. It offers a soft, toned-down version of rock music. This type of music often deals with love, life and relationships mostly. Artists like Billy Joel, James Taylor, Chicago and Journey are some of the greatest examples of soft rock. The latest version of this type of music is labeled as adult contemporary or easy listening, with artist like Green Day and Fall Out Boy.

Pop music is the most common genre of music there is. Pop stands for popular music, which means that it is the kind of music that is played for mainstream purposes. A lot of artists have been successful in playing pop music and the instruments that are used vary greatly to produce a mainstream sound. One of the most successful artists to this day when it comes to pop music is Lady Gaga. She has been able to create hits one after the other.

Yoga music is made to accompany yoga stretches and movements. It helps to relax the mind, body and soul to enhance the yoga experience. Artist like Prem Joshua, Adagio and Reema Datta have created some of the most beautiful yoga music, which is intended to create a calm, relaxing flow to go along with any yoga movement. Yoga music also includes spiritual mantras and chants, along with the music.

A healing song or sound may come from any music genre, as long as it can relax or energize the individual. Healing music fulfills the individual's psychological and emotional needs.

Healing music helps to heal the body from the inside out. The musical notes respond to the human organism. The body mind and spirit becomes one, allowing the tones to create a healing effect. Healing music can also consist of chanting, mantras and incantations. The act of sound, vibrations and the five senses allow this music to invade the soul and inner consciousness to bring about healing.

No matter what your preference is, there will always be that song, band or artist that will be able to speak to you through music.
