Destinations to Visit for Seattle Arts

Visitors to Seattle can explore one of many arts centers in the city. There are a great many possibilities for visitors to learn about the uniqueness and splendor of the fine arts in Seattle during their stay. Lots of the places feature stunning paintings, modern sculptures and tempting displays of performance art.

Seattle Art Museum

Artwork from locations including Africa, Europe and Asia are displayed through this Seattle arts center. The museum also has many Native American artworks. Visitors can use wall texts, audio tours and computer screens to further learn about the art pieces in the museum. The museum offers free admission to all visitors each first Thursday of the month. This renowned museum can be found near Seattle's pretty waterfront.

Marion Oliver McCaw Hall

This performance location serves as the home of the Seattle Opera and also showcases many different kinds of live art. Visitors can attend one of the shows in this hall to see a concert of gorgeous classical music or delightful ballet. In December, with a bit of help from many world-class dancers, the hall puts on a few performances of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. The location even hosts performances of some of the top pop music acts. The hall is located within the Seattle Center, which is also the site of the world-famous Space Needle.

Seattle Asian Art Museum

Visitors who wish to see some of the most precious collectibles from Asia can visit this Seattle arts center. Many ancient statues and artifacts can be seen within the museum. There are also many exhibits offering a salute to the ancient religious customs of Pacific Rim. Like the Seattle Art Museum, visitors to this museum can gain access for free each first Thursday of the month. The museum sits atop historic Capitol Hill on the serene grounds of Volunteer Park.

Broadway Performance Hall

This smaller location seats slightly below 300 spectators, allowing for a more intimate experience with the performing arts. Visitors can come to this venue to see complicated performances from flamenco acts, comedians and live melodramatic performers. The hall also has art films and spoken word performances. The locale is located along Broadway Avenue on Capitol Hill, a popular area for the more edgy crowd.

Photographic Center Northwest

This locale of fine arts in Seattle showcases many pieces of modern and history filled photograph works. Guests can see the exhibitions of state and international photographers. Visitors can even take part in one of the seminars or courses offered to find out more about the intricacies of creative photography. This museum is located in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood.
