The Popularity Of Weekly Movie Reviews

By Tara Daniels

All people love a good movie. Whether young, old, religious or not, man or woman, we all enjoy entertainment in this form. They can be serious, funny, documentary or fictional, yet they have prevailed over the years. This is why weekly movie reviews are so high in demand.

Both technology and the cinema industry are moving at a very fast pace. New films and special effects techniques are emerging as often as every week. Script writers are busy, production houses are moving from one project to the next. It is a continuous booming industry that will never cease to grow and have a following.

Audiences loved the classics from Jaws to Titanic to Avataar, and continue proving this love with soaring box office takings. With the advancements in film making, it is no wonder that people love them so much. The story lines get more intriguing, the special effects get more impressive and the actors become better at their art. New technology also adds to the fascination and exciting entertainment that makes feature films so popular.

Previews are extremely important as they give audiences an idea of what to expect before seeing a particular film and help them to decide what to watch and what not to watch. There are a few who may choose to take a risk by going to see a movie they know nothing about, but the majority prefer to have a sneak preview. Once they know who acts in it, what the genre is and what the story is about, they are better informed and can avoid disappointment.

Weekly movie reviews are just as helpful, if not more so. They provide deeper insight into the effect of the actual movie on the person who watched it and wrote the critique. At the same time as being entertaining and sometimes opinionated, these critiques can influence our decision about whether or not to watch a particular film.

Avid cinema goers look out for these critics on a weekly basis, knowing that there are always new releases coming out. They are often found in newspapers, magazines or online websites. They are available in many different media formats to make it accessible for the general public.

Movie reviews have the power to influence audiences in drastic ways. If a film gets a very poor write up in a paper, it will be hot gossip the next day and the critics words will spread like wild fire. No one will want to watch a feature that gets a very bad review. Good write ups get good followings and this can help to boost box office sales. They can sometimes be very harsh and even ruin an actors entire career. Yet for some reason, these reviews carry great influence with the public and viewers always look to them and trust their words.

Whether they are online or in the local tabloid or entertainment guide, weekly movie reviews will always be sought out by avid film goers or any ordinary people looking for some guidance. People turn to them for help in deciding whether or not to watch a certain film. They create hype, suspense or even disappointment around new movies and their actors. So if you are off to the cinema, grab a good review first and be informed.
