The Importance Of A Tension Load Linesman Tool

By Bonnie Contreras

The tension load linesman tool and its importance becomes obvious when you consider the people who use these tools are suspended from poles to repair our power cables. The ability of this item to rejoin a break temporarily, while the worker deals with a permanent repair is invaluable. Allowing the person to carry out the repair safely and more easily than without it.

All the tools this type of worker needs have to be strapped to his body so that they are constantly at hand. So they must be compact and light yet robust and reliable. The last thing they need is to be up a pole or at the top of a steel framework to find that a piece of equipment is broken or fails mid job.

Like the people these tools are out in the worst of the weather and need to be rugged to survive the hash environment. Freezing conditions, wind rain and snow all find the weaknesses in our power network and that is when we need these people doing the repairs. As soon as the conditions are half decent they are out there getting us up and running again.

So when winter approaches and we complain that we have no heat or light, and can not watch TV or play games, these people are out in the thick of it getting our power restored to us as quickly as possible. Enabling us once more to relax and get back to our regular activities in comfort and safety. We should thank these people for their hard work but we think nothing of what they go through for our comfort.

It is a harsh life for these people, as they tour the country keeping our power flowing. They travel through all kinds of terrain to reach the wildest parts of the country, to access the remote cables that feed the even more remote areas of humanity. Constantly on the road they leave family and friends behind for the sake of the job.

The bravery they show and skills and strength they use to do this work, climbing high structures to work with high voltage cables sets them apart from the rest. They keep the energy flowing so that the country can work. Factories, offices, transport and the government would all be lost without power.

Still they are not recognized. They work to get paid just like us. Travelling the country and doing their job to ensure that we too can be ready and able to do ours, whatever it may be.

So we can see the tension load linesman tool and its importance is just a small part of a larger jigsaw of tools and equipment necessary to make the life of these people much easier. A weak or faulty tool would cause problems and distress as it would render the job practically impossible. Locating a replacement in the furthest reaches of the country, could be very time consuming to say the least adding days to the time a repair could take.
