Yet again, Kermit's Key West key Lime Shoppe is proud to be placing its support for the Defending Freedom Warrior Weekend Benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. The event found its inauguration 7 years ago, at the hands of Complete Parachute Solutions - a company based in DeLand Florida, dealing in parachutes for various defense contractors (Consequently, DeLand is also the home town of Kermit's business office and manufacturing operations. In the city, you can also discover one of the best skydiving facilities within the country, Skydive DeLand.
The main idea behind the Warrior Weekend, is to show gratitude to those, who have been injured during the service for the country, by providing them with an unforgettable weekend from April 17-20th. Upon getting off their private motor coach, the veterans will be welcomed with a gift basket from Kermit's Key West Key Lime Shoppe, and from then on, their special treatment will last 3 whole days until they finally depart.
The great weekend experience will begin on Thursday, with a barbecue event, and notably - Kermit's Key Lime Pie. Friday morning will place the start of the next great event called the Skydive Boogie, where the Warriors have the chance of jumping together with people from the Special Forces. DeLand's mayor and officials will be glad to welcome the Warriors at another barbecue event, which will also be open the the public. There is nothing like observing the reactions of warriors, as they reach the ground welcomed by the crowd's cheering.
On Friday evening we will see the great Downtown Deland Block Party, which is brought to us by the Rotary Club of Downtown Deland and the Mainstreet DeLand Association. There are a lot of things to be seen that night, especially when it comes to providing fun for the great Warriors, and this will include the great GrillMasters prepared barbecue, which of course makes use of Kermit's barbecue sauces and seasonings, and a lot of cold beer, live music and other entertainment.
The Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament at Pelican Bay Country Club in Daytona Beach is the event, which comes in the early morning of Saturday, right after the festivities from the prior evening. Pretty much each one of the holes during the game will have a silly challenge hooked to it, like shooting a golf ball out of a bazooka, and this aims to make the whole thing all the more fun. Even though the tournament will have a lot of great golfers as attendees, this does not mean that it won't be silly to its core.
