What Is Prenuptial Photography?

By Alexxa Rufus

Marriage may be the start of the lives of the bride and groom as one, but their wedding day is the conclusion of a big preparation. It's because every engaged couple knows that a wedding, no matter how modestly or magnificently celebrated, is the product of a fastidious planning. This planning stage includes pre-wedding photo session, wherein the bride and the groom pose in front of the camera together weeks or even months before the wedding.

Though there are people who think pre-wedding photography is only a fad, it has actually been around for a very long time. Our parents and grandparents may even have had a pre-wedding photo shoot during their time. It's just during the recent years that it has escalated in popularity. Perhaps it's because many couples have seen the wisdom of posing together in front of the camera prior to their wedding day.

Prenuptial shoots are like the getting to know phase of the couple and the photographer. It's the ideal opportunity for the couple to get rid of their awkwardness before the camera. They will be able to get to understand the person who will take the pictures on their wedding day, and the photographer will understand what the couple wants.

Because these photo shoots enable them to work in a relaxed environment, the couple and the photographer will become comfortable with one another and take natural-looking photos. The couple would know how the photographer works, and the latter would be familiar with what they want. This will lead to an easier working relationship on the wedding day.

Also, it is fun to take prenuptial photos because they usually have playful themes depending on the vision of the photographer and the idea of the clients. They may even include storylines and costumes. These photo shoots allow couples to have a good time, be flirty, and get creative before the camera. The images would more than likely shoot fun shots if they are having fun during the photo shoot.

They are not the same with Singapore bridal wedding photos, in which the focus is just on the bride and is typically taken on the wedding day itself. Pre-wedding shoots include both the bride and the groom, and are taken before the big day. Most Singapore photographers already include pre-wedding shots in their packages. This way, clients don't have to be concerned about spending more for a separate photo shoot fee.
