Professionalism in play writing ranges from the formatting and the style of presentation to the way you put the names of your characters, how you arrange the colon in front of each name and the words of each character. For your writing to appear more presentable, professional and well turned-out, you must ensure you understand the instructions on how to write a stage play. Each name should be placed in its own space, but you can also assign a new space when writing the directions or a word showing what is going on in the performance.

Bone Structure or Police File Model puts attributes of a character into three different groupings; physical, emotional and social. Things such as body weight, color of the skin, height, muscularity fall under physical. Education, hobbies, job, religion, family, history, living standard and all that goes with the place of a person in the social order fall under social while Emotional contains things like mental health and all the psychological aspects of a person.

Though most of this information will not be part of a written script, you must attempt by all efforts possible to create a character that is detailed and speaking just from the looks. This article provides all the material facts and figures explaining why characters behave, act or perform the way they do. It helps you understand the reasons why for instance, a black character always sticks around black women.

Never ignore the old axiom Write what you know thing. Even if you have heard it more than a thousand times, it is important you observe it for the case of play writing. If observed, it will keep you focused while writing; on the other hand, you will be giving out original and the best of you hence, helping to eliminate vague and elusive concepts that do not conform to writing course of action.

Generally, you should introduce your characters in the beginning of the plot especially the main ones. Own your story, it can be dramatic, funny and humorous if you desire because comedy always comes from the character in a performer. Even if the situation is so serious, you can use your character to create happiness as long as your plot is strong. Take account of a setup in your plot, an introduction of major characters; one who creates a conflict and another who brings in resolutions within the story.

Great thought is a must for a writer, imagination patience and creativity are supplements that must be embraced. Patience is essential for the reason that writing is a process that requires time, creativity is essential for comedy as well as any other performing art. Take your time and generate as many ideas as possible.

Generally, there is more than one character and all seem to be going separate ways. At the end of the script, it is expected that a resolution brings back harmony and all stories intersect to form one. After all this is done, sit down, proofread the entire script and then get a group of reliable and dedicated actors to perform for your script.
