I'm comfortable with giving and receiving gifts each Christmas. Then again, I wish to keep it simpler but far more special this Christmas. Oftentimes we fail to realize the real meaning of Christmas. Everytime I drop by shopping malls during the busy Christmas holiday week, I see people walking around carrying grocery bags or buying a variety of Christmas cards.
I'm curious if individuals we give presents to really value the stuff we give them. I am prompting this question because I am actually guilty of just stacking gifts someplace and not giving them the second look after receiving them. Surely, I show them how appreciative I am, yet I simply wish to have it totally different this time.
My plan is to give out personalized Christmas cards that are not truly pricey once you just let your creative mind do the work. I do not mind recycling unused greeting cards last year. If ever you've got some of them, I urge you to use them.
I'm not really into sending greeting cards before but I believe everything is going to change this Christmas mainly because I realized that I am spending excessively, giving stuff to individuals, the majority of whom aren't genuinely satisfied with what they receive. I actually feel similarly though when someone sends me coffee mugs or big tees or hats that I couldn't use at all.
I have also found out that there is a much better way to spend cash this Christmas. Sharing to charity might simply be an option. I think a person does not need to be rich to give to charity. The money I use to buy items for individuals may be best spent for donations. I guess my family and friends would understand and many of them wouldn't mind either.
Enjoying time with my family would be most suitable. I didn't have time with them last Christmas since I was more preoccupied with gathering friends and partying that I cannot even recall if I had slept in my room. A lot of my friends pay a visit to their hometowns yet not necessarily to spend time with their own family. How about giving it a difference this Christmas?
Have more time for your loved ones this particular Christmas. Join in the setting up of the Christmas tree, I find this activity fun. In addition, be part of food preparation for the Christmas dinner. This one, also, is really fun.
I was unable to treat my parents the year before. I'll perhaps go together with them to a health spa or eat dinner with their company someplace. I do not believe material gifts are always the unforgettable ones. At times, the time you spend with your family are more meaningful.
There's no problem with disregarding the tradition. If you feel it's time to transform things, do so. In my case, I'd still buy some Christmas greeting cards because there are still many people who would be surely happy to get one.
