How to Make Your Own Snoopy Costume For Halloween

By Henry Clay

Do you want a Snoopy Costume this Halloween? Who wouldn't love dressing up like a cute, chunky little dog for Halloween? First of all, and you know it's true, women love dogs. Secondly, if you can't think of another dog inspired costume all on your own from all of the awesome dog characters already out there then I will give you an example. So, how about dear old Snoopy?

Everyone knows about Snoopy. He's that great, lovable, non-speaking dog from the Charlie Brown cartoons that we've all come to love. And you're in luck because it's actually pretty easy to make a costume of Snoopy. So let's get started.

To start, you will need 2 plain white, unfitted bed sheets. And don't even try using pillow cases either because it won't work. Remember, they need to be at least twin size depending on how big you are. First, line the two sheets up with one right next to the other on the floor so that you can easily spread them out full length and flatten out all of the wrinkles too. Plus, be sure to fix them so that you can easily fold one over the other when needed.

Next, take your hot-glue gun and make a hot-glue oval on the top one third of the sheet. Then, quickly fold it over onto the other sheet and press it down so that the glue bonds the two sheets together. This is going to be Snoopy's face. Cut this part out and lay it to the side.

Now you'll need to make two boxing-glove sized circles on the rest of the flat sheet. Remember to use the hot-glue gun to outline these circles in the same way that you outlined Snoopy's face earlier. Same as before, fold the sheet over each circle and press down.

Next, you'll need to take your two cut circles and your large oval head section and cut smaller half circle shapes into the sides of each. Keep in mind that you will be wearing Snoopy's head like a hat, so don't make that hole so big that your head falls through it. The circle should be cut into the hot-glued portion of the circles. These holes will be where you put the stuffing through to fluff up the pieces later. They will also be where you put your hands through to add the stuffing.

And now it's time to take your 2 cut circles and your large oval head and cut smaller half circle into the sides of each. The circle should be cut inside the hot-glued portion. These holes will be where you put the filling through to fluff up the pieces for your Snoopy costume. They will also be where you put your hands through. You will be wearing Snoopy's head like a hat when it's complete, so don't make that hole so big that your head goes through it.

Once cool it's time to stuff the three pieces. You may use anything you have available, but the best stuffing is any material that is fluffy and soft - kind of like something you would put inside a pillow. Take a Sharpie marker and draw in the nose, eyes, spots, and claws. Be sure to put a big smiley face on Snoopy too. On Snoopy's face, cut two slits near the hole for you head and find ribbon, string, or shoe laces to tie it down onto your head.

Now it's time for some fun - So go grab Linus, Charlie Brown, Woodstock and the rest of the Peanuts gang and let's all go find the Great Pumpkin together. You are ready to rock the town in your awesome Snoopy costume this Halloween.
