Tattoo Sleeve Is Right For You?

By Jacob Michaels

A talented tattoo artist can actually create an splendid work of art. But that alone is not what makes it truly interesting. It's when it's inked right into your skin. Yes, it's like making your body itself into a work of art.

There is no limit as to which part of your body can take on this stuff. The site is entirely up to you, to your own choosing. But do mull over one kind of tattoo that's gaining in popularity now: the tattoo sleeve.

So what do we imply by these?

What the name implies: this kind of sleeve can cover a great part of your body. It covers up your skin almost entirely. With complex patterns and intricate designs.

So, since it's called a tattoo sleeve, it's frequently found on the arms. Either a full sleeve (from the wrist up to the shoulder) or a half sleeve (from the wrist up to the elbow - and this can also be called a quarter sleeve) - when you get what is truly a quarter sleeve, you go from the bicep to the shoulder.

It is not limited to your arms. It can be placed on your leg as well. The thing, though, is that it normally is wrapped around the entire arm or leg.

It can be magnificently designed and inked into your skin. But finding the best out there isn't the easier job in the world. Still, no matter how much time it may take, it's very imperative to plan these ahead. You can't rush this part. If this isn't planned just right, it won't be the work of art it could be, it could just be a calamity.

And if you think you want this kind, be aware that it's not going to be inexpensive. It doesn't come cheap. The larger and the more complex its design, the more you may have to pay for it. A full sleeve can, in fact, cost from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Also, because of their size, it cannot be finished in one setting. So be prepared to have to come back a number of times. It can take as much as 20 hours to be done. And this artists like to break the sessions up so that each lasts for about an hour. So do think on having to come back to your artist about 20 times to get your it done.

To get this requires normally a fairly significant decision. It takes time and money to get one done, and this is particularly true if you are interested in a full-sleeve. So rushing into this is not a good idea. You should be sure that the design has been carefully planned. Do rely on your artist to help you with the planning of your own tattoo sleeve.
