Practice Volunteerism And Virtues When Joining 19 Lions

By Virginia Cook

Social clubs and like organizations are numerous and have varied programs that always provide some good companionship and have systems of providing services to those in need. Many are international in scope and will have chapters in major cities in the US and around the world. Most are great organizations that have standards for the quality of life of the people who belong to it and those that they serve.

Lions Clubs International is probably one of the better fraternal groups that are well respected where members operate or chapters are located. Multiple Districts 19 Lions is an umbrella style of aggrupation covering Canadian British Columbia and the states of Idaho and Washington. It has more area to cover than average and also operates with many more chapters.

The district is also made up of regional HQs for better services delivery and action program coordination. It is quite accessible and open to all through its online sites and the chapter and region headquarters. Membership is, again, open to anyone who shares the same interests as the group, as advertised in brand descriptions, slogans and announcements.

For beginners, the primary requirement is having the spirit of volunteerism. This has given members, either working as individuals or groups, good answers to whatever community challenges there are that need addressing all over the globe. These are justified through the motto, We Serve, and it is the only one needed.

Founded in Chicago, Illinois on 7 June, 1917, the club has maintained the fundamental mission enshrined in its motto. Found Lion Melvin Jones had an idea that attracted the imaginations of many. In a short span of years, its populism and progressiveness created so many chapters and more have been added as it move forward in time.

The relevant word this group is LIONS, which is also an acronym for how they practice the mission. They are a set of values that form the foundation of active democracy in countries where members are working to strengthen the freedom of individuals. The values are Liberty, Intelligence and Our Nations Safety.

All good men and women of good repute and who are of legal age are invited to join the organization. There is a set of guidelines that enables members to screen for the right kind of people who will provide great service to others through club programs and systems. Again, going to the local chapter office for announcements is best practice here.

Colors are incorporated into organizational banners or flags to represent virtues in practice for members. The color purple represents things integrity or loyalty, and the golden colors is used to be symbolic of liberality, purity, sincerity and generosity. These symbols are usually in use for signage, official communications and dressage whenever the group is actively involved in events, programs and service missions.

Goals that are basic to the Lions International programs are connected to the preservation of hearing and eyesight for those who are afflicted with these problems. Many more goals can be put up whenever and wherever needed, and these are decided on by members in connection to national issues. Lions often work with local governments or groups with the same ideals for a team effort in delivering great and intensive help for people.
