How To Achieve Excellent Mary Wray Photography Skills

By Sandra Ross

Humans have a need to freeze moments and store them. This has been a need for years. Mary Wray photography offers a satisfaction for that need. With the advent of social media, everyone deems themselves a photographer now. There are professionals who have spent years learning how to combine lenses with the perfect lighting, angle, image composition among other factors to come up with just the perfect image. These people are, however, getting competition from the amateurs.

Amateur photographers have access to smartphones with great cameras and ability to edit images. Aside from that, there is cheap equipment whose capacity is enough to produce excellent pictures. The cost of reproduction is also pretty low with some choosing to reproduce themselves instead of using a service. This is not to say that an amateur has arrived. There is still more one can do to hone their skill.

One must know the different forms. Everything from underwater to black and white requires a different approach. A different attitude. It is important that one understand how to approach each form.

An open mind is paramount. One should not let their judgment of the subject influence their craft. The mind should be a clean slate before one looks at the subject through those lenses. They must be ready to encounter the most unexpected story once they put the subject I focus. This will not happen if they are busy judging and forming opinions.

A camera is just a tool. It is a means to an end. Without the person, photography would not be an art. One must, therefore, apply him or herself wholly and completely. They must engage the subject. The essence of the subject will draw itself out. One should not work to do that.

One should take several shots before moving on to a different subject. This offers a pool of images to choose from. It also portrays changes in the subject. One can better understand the subject after looking at every single image. This will inform their choice. The same also offers an insight into the technique. It lets one know if there is a need for change or improvement.

A natural setting is always best. Any amateur must endeavor to use natural lighting as much as possible. It provides the best foundation before one can move on to learning how to use artificial lighting. The same applies to smiles, facial expressions, and poses. One should aim for the most natural ones. Maybe take shots between poses? Catch the subject in the natural element rather than a plastic forced stance.

In some cases, one might have enough passion to want to move from amateur to professional. Apart from passion, there is need to gain expertise in the use of equipment. One must learn how to use the resources at their disposal to make the images as exquisite as can be.
