When "Space 1999" "Lost In Space" and "Star Trek" were first created they had great tunes to go along with their opening. During the 1960's Gene Roddenberry created a hit series titled "Star Trek" which dealt with a Captain and his crew who were exploring outer space for several years. Every person around America also like the short tunes that Alexander added to this series whenever the Captain or his crew were in some sort of danger. Nowadays younger people also whistle the "Star Trek" theme whenever they are playing adventure games or doing any other types of activities.
When "Star Trek" ended Gene Roddenberry decided to do other projects to fill up his time. He waited until the 80's before getting another musical arrangement for the series "The Next Generation." Another very special show which featured the crew of Alpha Control was called "Space 1999" and it contained some really groovy sounds.
Many people thought that this series was great even though the supporting cast of actors were unknown to the American audience. Martin Landau and Barbara Bain had left the United States to star on this particular show after their time on "Mission Impossible." The two also did this series for financial gains.
Individuals in England have all heard about Barry Gray and his musical introduction for the "Space 1999" series. His theme was very exciting and it was different from any other tune that was around. The intro to this series showed clips of what was going to happen within the hour.
Fans all over the world still watch and love "Lost In Space." This was one glorious series which featured the best animation that humans have ever seen. The opening credits during the first and second season included images of the actors floating in space. This sequence was created by a composer with the birth name of John Towner Williams and he is very intelligent. John decided to do a different opening after the second season ended.
Viewers were now able to see the faces of the actual actors who were starring within the show. This was a way that everyone could actually see Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Johnathan Harris, Mark Gooddard, Marta Kristen, Angela Cartwright and Billy Mummy. The tune was very upbeat and really made human beings jump for joy. Unfortunately this was the last season of the show since the ratings had slipped. Mr. John Williams also created the theme for the motion picture "Star Wars" during the 1970's and this was one of his greatest accomplishments.
